All of the spaces are located on the first floor of the Rockefeller Library. From the main entrance, pass through the gate and take an immediate right turn past the elevators and through the glass doors.

The Patrick Ma Digital Scholarship Lab
The Patrick Ma Digital Scholarship Lab (DSL) opened in 2012. It seats up to 50, and includes four large wall-mounted displays: three at the front of the room for sharing content and displaying remote participants and one at the rear of the room for presenters.
Use of the DSL
The DSL is intended for activities that are central to the Library’s academic mission. Scheduling priority is given to library instruction, including classes that bear credit for the Digital Humanities Doctoral Certificate, and library events. Courses taught by Brown instructors that make full use of the room’s technology will be considered by request.
The Library declines most requests to use library spaces for events given the high demand, prioritization on academic use, and strain on resources that events can create. However, we do consider all requests and strive to support important campus initiatives.
Requesting the DSL
- To request the room for your course, please fill out the Booking the Patrick Ma Digital Scholarship Lab for Courses form.
- To request the room for another purpose, email jennifer_braga@brown.edu and ashley_champagne@brown.edu.
